TZM Alloy (titanium, zirconium, molybdenum) contains 99% Mo, 0.5% Ti and 0.08% Zr. TZM offers twice the strength of pure molybdenum at temperatures over 1300°C and the recrystallization temperature of TZM is approximately 250°C higher than molybdenum. TZM's finer grain structure and the formation of TiC and ZrC in the grain boundaries inhibit grain growth and the related failure of the base metal as a result of fracturing along grain boundaries.
